Rompin Sailfish 12th & 13th August 2005
Day one saw us hit the water before 8am. The bait tanks were filled up at around 9:30am and the Sailfish lines were out before 10am. While setting out the first balloon it was hit but failed to hook up. Subsequently we had a double hook up but one busted off. It was a frantic morning till about 12pm when the bite shut down. As the skipper had predicted, the fish came back on the bite at about 3pm and we ended the day with 10 strikes for 5 landed with 2 bust offs. We also managed to raise one by popping.
On day two we decided to chase some “food fish”. We ended up with 37 leather jackets but not in big sizes. They made for a tasty meal. The session lasted till we finished our lunch at around 1pm then it was off to chase a few more Sailfish. Again they came on hard around 3pm and we finished off with 7 strikes for 3 landed with 2 bust offs. Om "Fishzone Sportfishing" og Big Game i MalaysiaThe
Magnificent Sailfish abounds in the calm waters off Kuala Rompin on the east
coast of Malaysia. Relatively unknown, it’s only a 3½ hour drive from sunny
Singapore where the prolific number of sailfish must be seen to be believed.
This is the ultimate destination to fulfill your dream of landing a sailfish
many times over. With our experienced skipper armed with local knowledge
multiple strikes are always possible. The strike rate is comparable to and if
not better than other hotspots around the world but it won’t cost you an arm
and a leg. The
other great sportfish is the Mahi Mahi. They appear in great numbers during
first half of the season and are great sport on light tackle. They are excellent
table fare which can be arranged for dinner. We could freeze a couple for you
should you want to take them home. Såfremt du brænder efter at prøve kræfter med Sailfishen kan du kontakte Ian og Fishzone Sportfishing via nedenstående link. Billeder |
